About M.A.M.S

M.A.M.S is a non-profit organization. Our members build and operate model aircraft, boats and trains. We are based at Brayshaw Park, having our Clubrooms, Miniature Railway, and Model Boat pond there as shown on the site map below. Running days for the Miniature Railway and model boats are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month from 1pm to 4pm weather permitting. The Model Aircraft Section of MAMS operates at a Flying site leased from the Marlborough District Council beside the Wairau river near Tuamarina, club flying days are Tuesday, thursday, and Sunday mornings (9am to 12 noon).

    To Join MAMS.

If you are interested in joining MAMS you can come along to see our activities and meet the members. Model boats and trains operate at the Club Base at Brayshaw Park on the first and third Sunday each month, and model aircraft fly at the club model airfield near Tuamarina. See individual section pages for more details. Membership application forms can be downloaded from the link above right. You can give the application to a committee member or post it to the address on the form. Membership application forms will be presented at the Committee Meeting for acceptance (The committee meets on the second tuesday each month).


MAMS Membership and Subscription Structure

Subscriptions are set by the AGM in April each year. Members may belong to any or all of the following Sections, for one Ordinary Membership fee:

Engineering - Boating - Flying.

Ordinary Membership (all Sections) $ 60

Family membership $ 65

Junior Member (16 years old or younger) $ 40

Country Member (+40km from Blenheim) $ 40

Flying Section members must join MFNZ for an additional annual fee of: Senior $95, Junior $30, and Family $100, paid to MAMS. NOTE: MFNZ Fees are to be paid by 31 March each year, to maintain continuos membership and insurance cover.
